I was sorry to hear about the passing of Ken Palmer, the mandolin player and one of the founding members of the Dixie Flyers.
I first saw The Dixie Flyers with Ken on mandolin and the late Willie P. Bennett on harmonica at the Carlisle Bluegrass Festival circa 1975 (the year Bill Monroe was there). I saw them many times after that with a steadily changing line-up, but Ken and Bert, the founding members were always a big part of this band.
