Subject: RE: Lyr/Tune Add: Rambling Robin From: Artful Codger Date: 06 Nov 10 - 04:10 AM Baz, what is your source for your transcription? By the way, many ABC programs recognize inline directives, particularly for key and meter changes; just embed them within square brackets (but only one directive per pair of brackets): C|CFF FEF DCB,| [M:12/8] C6-C2C| [M:9/8] CFF FGA BAF| % Surrounding spaces aren't necessary, but I've used them for clarity. This is preferrable for scoring, since with the multi-line method each segment usually shows on a different staff. Note that a new meter spec can overrule the default note length (L: directive) you set in the header, so sometimes you have to embed both. Also, you don't need to (and probably shouldn't) begin a line with a measure bar if the previous line ended with a measure bar. An exception is if you're starting a line with a forward repeat. |

Subject: Lyr/Tune Add: RAMBLING ROBIN From: Kernow John Date: 13 Nov 99 - 03:21 PM I though this one would be in the database but I couldn't find it. Rambling Robin O'er hills and o'er mountains I used for to go I've slept in the woods and the frost and the snow No anxiety ever came into my mind So contented was Rambling Robin
The wind and the rain beat against me quite cold
When sixteen long years they were over and past
Now when my past folly was run to an end
Now where shall I wander or where shall I go
