Janie, one doesn't have to sign into the traditionalmusic.co.uk site. It has a great deal of material; I use it often.

The above site also has a version with chords in C if anyone is interested.

I don't usually bother with links to youtube, I didn't with Reeves, because googling youtube and putting the name of the song in the blank will bring up not only Reeves but other versions to which one may listen.

Not the good Sir. Walter Scott is a rather common name.

This Walter Scott, 1796-1861, was an evangelist, Baptist persuasion, who contributed to "Christian Songs and Hymns," 1839, the first Restoration Movement hymnal to match words and music. (American Christian Missionary Society, "The Christian Hymn-book,", a later publisher).

There was another evangelist with the same name, about the same time period.
