Subject: Review: Foreverly - Billie + Norah

Somebody told me that Norah Jones did a remake of an Everly Brothers album with Billie Joe Armstrong. I had no idea what to expect, but I like the results. Amazon says it's "inspired" by the 1958 Everly Brothers album is "Songs Our Daddy Taught Us." Seems to me that it's a direct remake of the Everly album. Whatever the case, I like both albums. Spotify has an additional album of comments on the songs - also available on YouTube. Warner Brothers has the entire album available for listening on YouTube - what's the catch?

Foreverly
1. Roving Gambler
2. Long Time Gone
3. Lightning Express
4. Silver Haired Daddy Of Mine
5. Down In The Willow Garden
6. Who's Gonna Shoe Your Pretty Little Feet?
7. Oh So Many Years
8. Barbara Allen
9. Rockin' Alone (In An Old Rockin' Chair)
10. I'm Here To Get My Baby Out Of Jail
11. Kentucky
12. Put My Little Shoes Away
Songs Our Daddy Taught Us
1. Roving Gambler
2. Down In The Willow Garden
3. Long Time Gone
4. Lightning Express
5. That Silver Haired Daddy Of Mine
6. Who's Gonna Shoe Your Pretty Little Feet
7. Barbara Allen
8. Oh So Many Years
9. I'm Here To Get My Baby Out Of Jail
10. Rockin' Alone (In An Old Rocking Chair)
11. Kentucky
12. Put My Little Shoes Away
Not the sort of songs you'd expect from Norah Jones - or from the Everly Brothers, for that matter.
One song that interested me was "Kentucky," which appears to use the tune of the Carter Family song, "You Are My Flower." Here's a YouTube Recording of "Kentucky," by songwriter Karl Davis, with Harty Taylor.
