One great concert. Duncan has a load of stories of life growing up with his Dad and of his travels on the road with Utah. He makes the songs his own, but is clearly his father's son with a lot of the same humour coming through during the evening. Kate is a delight - a beautiful voice, whether singing her own songs or Utah's, and just a lovely person. We were fortunate enough to have the company of Deb Cowan, who has been in email correspondence with Duncan on union matters and who sang a song at the end of the evening.

Many thanks to Deb and Tom Coward for hosting this evening - it was defeintely worth coming out to hear these performers.

Duncan joined us for breakfast this morning before heading off back to Massachusetts for a performance tonight. Both he a Kate will be welcome back anytime.

It's looking good for me to get out of work a bit early, so with a wee bit of luck, we should be there by 6, wine in hand. :)

This is sounding great - really looking forward to it!

Hear Kate here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JatE3bpZS_8

From her website: http://www.katemacleod.com/
She sings and plays guitar, and fiddles as well. Her blog describes opening for Rosanne Cash ...and this is interesting:

"Kate MacLeod "channels the spirit of the great Carter Family classics." Sing Out Magazine

"In 2014 NEW RECORDING NOW AVAILABLE!
Kate MacLeod - At Ken Sanders Rare Books, a collection of MacLeod's original songs inspired by books, is now available through Waterbug Records andat Ken Sanders Rare Books."

Judy and I are looking forward to this. We probably won't be able to make it at 6 pm sharp. Judy gets out of work at 5 pm and I doubt if we can leave for South Portland before 5:45.

Any leftovers will be appreciated.

That goes without saying in Maine in winter.

Jacqui is making Chicken Alfredo, and I'm making a pumpkin pie. Of course, whatever Tom makes will trump anything.

I've never organized anything more complex than a sock drawer before, but it seems to have worked out.

I love Morticia's comment, "He couldn't organize a piss up in a brewery.

Captain, you are an impatient old git.

I will be there as will you and Jacqui, Tom and Deb.
Now PATIENTLY wait to see who else is available.

There will be food and drink as always. Between TRUBRIT and me, there are beds available, first come first serve.

Tom Coward is cooking. That alone is worth the price of admission.

Friday, January 10 at TRUBRIT's beautiful Victorian house in SoPo.
