Subject: RE: Sting BBC1 Sunday 22nd Dec From: GUEST Date: 02 Jan 14 - 08:40 AM Finally got chance to sit down and watch the show, after everyone I seemed to speak to was talking about it. I was totally captivated, an excellent show with some fantastic songs. (now uploaded on you tube) |

Subject: RE: Sting BBC1 Sunday 22nd Dec From: GUEST,Chris Date: 28 Dec 13 - 08:54 AM We were over in New York to see the show which was everything and more that it looked on this programme. As a Sting fan I would like to say that the contribution of the Wilson Family to the show was outstanding and well worthy of their own song spot. |
Subject: RE: Sting BBC1 Sunday 22nd Dec From: Tradsinger Date: 28 Dec 13 - 06:27 AM When I saw Sting's Christmas programme (last year?) I was very conscious of his mid-Atlantic accent but in this show he stuck to his local accent, which I think worked very well. Tradsinger |
Subject: RE: Sting BBC1 Sunday 22nd Dec From: Will Fly Date: 28 Dec 13 - 05:02 AM Just watched it on the iPlayer. Excellent - exceeded all expectations! |
Subject: RE: Sting BBC1 Sunday 22nd Dec From: Peter K (Fionn) Date: 27 Dec 13 - 09:31 PM A strangely carping take on the show, Breezy? I think we can assume the Wilsons were happy to be part of it. But to answer your query, the female vocalist was Jo Lawry. |

Subject: RE: Sting BBC1 Sunday 22nd Dec From: breezy Date: 27 Dec 13 - 02:05 PM Boy done goood, he's come of age. This is a worthwhile project but I've already sensed 'Police' fans are confused and dont get the idea !! poor sods. Ordered the CD then discovered there are 3 differring ones and the song I was very taken by was the Duet of pract arr. Both versions are on the one I've got coming Thought his guitarist was waste of space and his MD wanted to be noticed Wilsons were permitted to do a 'solo' which I dont think has any bearing on the show, perhaps Sting was wanting a break !but for me it was a token gesture to let them sing good as they maybe. can someone confirm who the female singer was please, was she the Unt'anked It can still be seen on the BBC i player till the morrow. |
Subject: RE: Sting BBC1 Sunday 22nd Dec From: Doug Chadwick Date: 27 Dec 13 - 11:03 AM Got the album on my iPod for my birthday, so I have been enjoying it in the car for last few weeks. I recorded the TV program and I agree, it was a superb show. It was interesting to see the one of the songs that has really grown on me, "Practical Arrangement", didn't make it to the play. DC |
