I'm wondering if anyone has some information related to this song. It's one of my favorites, either in Joe Callicott's version or Kenny Brown's version, which he learned from Joe Callicott, adding some R.L. Burnside licks. I'm still trying to figure out how it came by this name and whether it's Joe Callicott's or trad. Are there additional verses?

Here are the verses I know:

Drop down baby, just like showers of rain
I hate to hear my fair brown call my name, yeah
I hate to hear my fair brown call my name
Well, she calls so loud, and the poor girl calls so plain

Walks to the station, tears running down
I got news, my baby, done left town, yeah
I got news, my baby, 'cause he done blow this town
Well, I got great news, my baby, he done blow this town

Blues started calling me like Ronny and France
Looks like that other guy won't allow me no chance, yeah
Well, it looks like, to me, that other guy won't allow me all chance
Looks like that other guy won't allow me no chance.

By the way, I'm working out a tab for it. If you want to see it, just let me know. Thanks, much.

Love Me Baby Blues (France Chance) - Joe Callicott
Spanish tuning, pitched around F

Drop down baby just like showers of rain
Hate to hear my fair brown call my name, yeah
I hate to hear my fair brown call my name
Well she calls so loud and the poor girl calls so plain

Walked to the station, tears runnin' down
I got news my baby done left town, yeah
I got news my baby, well she done blowed this town
Well, I got great news, my baby done blowed this town

Rooster crowed in England, heard him in France
Looks like the other guys won't allow me no chance, yeah
Look like they, oh, ah, they won't allow me no chance
Ah look like to me I can't get a possible chance

I knows my doggie when I hear him bark
I know my baby if I feel her in the dark
I knows my baby, I feel her in the...

Ah tell me woman, how can you be so mean
Keep all of my money out on the [brand new stream], baby
Oh tell me woman, how can you be so...

According to a poster on that site, the song was originally entitled 'Love Me Baby Blues' and was renamed France Chance by Ry Cooder.
