Subject: RE: Gloucester Cajun Fest- Boat Band - Yeah From: bubblyrat Date: 27 Dec 13 - 05:30 AM Bonjour, M Rouge ! Now that I live in Tewkesbury, maybe I should get out more to places like Gloucester . Although personally Cajun isn't my "thing" ; having said that , I enjoyed seeing / hearing "The Flatville Aces" at the New Forest Arts Centre when I lived in Christchurch ( and watching the enthusiastic gyrations of their several coachloads of dancing fans !).And of course there's a very charismatic cajun fiddler on "Transatlantic sessions" whom I enjoyed watching. Meanwhile , if you know of any English / Irish / Old Time / "sessions" in this area I'd be grateful if you'd let me know ! Roger |
Subject: Gloucester Cajun Fest- Boat Band - Yeah From: Mr Red Date: 27 Dec 13 - 05:19 AM The bestest Cajun Band in England IMNSHO. Coming to Gloucester Cajun Festival 25-27th Jan they are appearing in the Guildhall on Jan 26th at 6:30pm. Season tickets were at 50GBP but may have gone up, though the website doesn't say so. Bit of a wrench for me as there is a French Dance in Horsley (nr Stroud) at 8pm. And a ceilidh the other side of Gloucester. Maybe Cajun then French, ne c'est pas? |
