This site:

http://accordeontab.canalblog.com/archives/2010/07/17/18604816.html

has a MIDI of a file called "Le Petit Accordeon." I think it's the same tune, but the music in the video is so richly ornamented, I can't tell for sure.

To add to the fun, the site says (Allemagne) which means they think it's German.

Meanwhile, I wonder what became of Barcelona, the OP.

(I have downloaded the MIDI for my own use.)

I searched "Le Petit Accordeon" on Spotify and found a version by Loose on their "Live at Inishbofin" CD. Excellent tune.

Barcelona, the following comment has appeared on the video:

"Louis Leger17 hours ago

The first tune is "Le Petit Accordéon". It is a musette style piece played by Joe Burke on his "Morning Mist" recording."

I dunno about this. 'Le Petit Accordeon' sounds like the name of an instrument, not a tune, to me. But see what you find out and let us know.

Thanks, Jennie. I'm going to find that waltz and add it to my repertoire.

The tune starting at 1.55 is "The Valeta Waltz", sometimes known as "The Old Valeta Waltz".....the Valeta Waltz is also the first dance performed by the dancers. It is danced and played at a more stately pace here.

Sorry, I can't help with the other tunes! But I have often danced the Valeta Waltz.

I can't tell you, Barcelona, but I thank you for the chance to hear a wonderful tune and watch some good dancing. I hope you get your answer.

Hello!

I have been searching for the name of this tune, so long ago, and I can't find it anywhere! I think it's some kind of french-canadian waltz or something! Anyone could help me?

It's the first tune in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-B7-0UxLME

And the last that Phil Cunningham plays in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4AyR9BL8FiM

Thanks!!
Albert
