This is a real longshot and I may be kidding myself but could the fragment collected by Hammond in 1908 from Marina Russell 'I told my love I would list a soldier' {Roud 17150} be a English version of 'Pierre de Grenoble'
If more info is needed on both songs please ask. However I expect there is a learned person who will put me right.
kind regards
Nick
