Hi everyone,
I've listened a few times to Tim Van Eyken's version of John Barleycorn, which I'd consider my favorite. Love the melody to it - but I can't seem to find another version that follows the same one. Did Eyken compose the melody or is it traditional?

Cheers,
Dom

Agreed. It's rather fine.

According to the sleeve notes: 'Trad after Fred Jordan'

There's a clip of Fred Jordan's version here

Tim and John Barleycorn were featured in English Dance & Song magazine's Singer, Song and Source feature in Spring 2007. Yes, it was Fred's version

Slightly off-topic, but Tim is co-starring in and providing the music for BBC Radio 4's afternoon drama this coming Friday....
