This is sad news. He was a member of Don Messer's Islanders who were great ambassadors for Canada and the music we love. My condolences to all who knew and loved him.
RIP
Peter

It has been thought and proven beyond a shrewd of doubt that in fact Cecil being a acoustic guitar perfectionist is and was in my own personal opinion a greater fiddler than his boss don messer.im not putting this in a negatory field of displeasure but there are circumstances where cec was playing in the cbc show when don had one of his many heart attacks and cec took the reigns in leading the fiddle tunes and his playing exemplified that of don. God strength to all of devils family friends and to the fiddling world who again have a lost a TRUE legend

Smile the while cec...and thank you for your numerous fiddle tunes.
