Subject: RE: 5th Anniv. Tunes at The Beech, M21 9EG From: Phil Edwards Date: 29 Jan 14 - 04:08 AM I heard a rumour there might be singing involved, and tunes of a playable kind. And cheese. These are all good things. |

Tunes at The Beech, M21 9EG From: Will Fly Date: 29 Jan 14 - 04:40 AM Well done, Les - more strength to your banjo arm (and I don't often say that!) - 5 years is respectable indeed. I started my own session/singaround in my local in September 2008 - I can't believe it's that long ago - and it's going strong as well. We have songs - but not cheese. I trust the cheese at the Beech will be Lancashire, with perhaps just a hint of Cheshire, given the location... Heck - just thought - it's not one of those terrible mouse parties where people dress as mice and start passing cheese around is it? |
Subject: RE: 5th Anniv. Tunes at The Beech, M21 9EG From: Les in Chorlton Date: 29 Jan 14 - 05:45 AM Thanks Will, we have evolved songs and tunes on alternate weeks which seems to work well. Singing every week can stretch song lists. Chris our heroic Landlord supplied Brie, Stilton and Lancashire with pickles, olives and bread for the 6th anniversary of songs. We are so bl**dy spophisticated 'Up North' these days - they will be making TV programmes here next. No dressing up as such but we have some Lancashire clog dancing so they may be costumed. Cheers Les |
