Subject: RE: Donate Instruments? From: Bert Date: 29 Jan 14 - 04:06 PM In Colorado Springs. I bought my most recent guitar at a pawn shop for $80. I was looking for a pickup for my regular guitar and pickups cost about $140, I saw this one with a built in pick up and grabbed it. You could try Craigslist or Thrifty Nickel as well. |
Subject: RE: Donate Instruments? From: wysiwyg Date: 29 Jan 14 - 03:21 PM I'm in thrift shops a lot-- seldom see 'em. Where u at now, Bert? ★☆★ |
Subject: RE: Donate Instruments? From: Bert Date: 29 Jan 14 - 02:17 PM I have one here, but it is not worth the shipping cost. When I tried to ship a guitar recently UPS wanted over $100. This one cost me $5 at Goodwill and the strings cost $5 and it needs some work on the frets, so it stays here unless you have someone passing through who could pick it up. You should be able to pick one up at Sam Ash for around $100. Try your local thrift stores. |

Subject: Donate Instruments? From: wysiwyg Date: 29 Jan 14 - 12:11 PM If anyone has an old 6-string guitar gathering dust you might donate to Camp Ridgebury (a southern-Ohio bungalow that replaces the Mudcat Attic Dorm in PA), please contact me for the shipping address. This can be a barely-playable beater for us to restring... just something a visiting folkie can pick up and tune, in case they hain't brought their own. Currently at CR there is a child's mini-glockenspiel, and a small plucked psaltery (restrung Music Maker, diatonic). Maybe a midsize lap dulcimer soon, if I can find one left here... and probably Hardi's spare mandolin. Banjo donations will be carefully considered! ;-) ♥♡♥ ~Susan |
