Add 25th to 27th July - Hopperfest - singing and beerfests in many pubs all linked by a cheap bus service - it'll pretty well definitely include the Good intent, the King George 5 and the King's Arms at Upper Upnor.

Sandway is a bust.

Anyone got anything on Blean?

Anyone got more on Frittenden (specifically camping)?

Anyone got anything on Leigh (and parking and/or camping)?

I don't mean a campervan festival, I mean something you get to by public transport. I don't see why land prices should affect anything.

Dunno mate. Not many festies in there - land prices too high. If you find any please let me know.

I think I've reached a preliminary posting point.

I still want to know more about Blean and Frittenden.

However, here it goes

18 April to 21 April. Notmiskin (invitation only) and Vigo (near Wrotham).

2nd May to 5th May. Sweeps.

29th May to 1st June. Piggy at Kentish Horse Markbeech.

19th June to 22nd June. Knockholt. Sort of a bit invitation a bit friends of friends. Very DIY.

28th and 29th June. Good Intent (John St Rochester) beer fest/folkalot.   Clashing with Leigh (north of de ribber).

5th and 6th July - beerfest and some morrissing - maybe some singing - White Horse at Sandway.

11th to 13th July - Sandwich. Strongly recommended (a lethal IPA on tap last year)

18th to 20th July Dead Horse Folk Ale (invitation or ask nicely)

August - you all know about Sidders and Broadstairs.

21 to 25 August. Knockholt clashing with Blessiversary (invitation only) clashing with Vigo (as above)

5th Sept to 7th Sept. Chaversham (some folk sessions promised maybe) clashing with Malcfest (NOT folk, mostly metal, doom influenced in general) - oh, and my birthday.

18th to 21st Sept. Deal.

27th and 28th Sept - Good Intent again.

2nd to 5th Oct. Tenterden.

Is the other pub I'm groping for details of the White Horse at Sandway?

And who's going to turn up the details for Blean?

Two events on the 29th March:

Singdanceandplay by the Fireside an afternoon songs and tunes session with featured visitors in the Bell & Jorrocks' lovely function room with guests including Peter Collins, John Morgan, Matt Quinn, and Annie Dearman and Steve Harrison, and of course Julie and Gavin Atkin.

Frittenden Old Fashioned Night Out - one of our very popular dances with song spots and games, this time featuring caller Fee Lock. More details and visiting stars to come!

As usual, see http://singdanceandplay.net for info.

Gavin

I'm still working on this - I would like more information about the Blean folk thing.

I also cannot find a pub. One left the M20 where the railway was close alongside, turned north, crossed the railway, kept right parallel to the railway and there was quite a nice pub with large grounds and one or two years there were sort of folkie things there also with Morris sides and one could pitch tent or caravan in the pub grounds.

Mr Google is not helping me a lot!

Ash is no more Richard. Pub stopped hosting it so the crowd moved on and after qat least one other venue, is now I think meeting at the Coach and Horses at Hacklinge.
Dunno if they have any 'events', I not been.
We (Faversham Folk Club) did manage a singaround at Faversham Hop Fest last year in the Marden foyer. It was reasonably attended considering it was all a bit last minute. Hopefully will occur again this year.

Blean Folk Day is usually good I hera although I not been to that either! I think it clashes with Knockers. (Cue responses).

I suspect Deal Folk by the Sea Festival will be 19th. - 21st. September and Snadwich Folk & Ale Festival is 11th. to 14th. July. The other one is The Frittenden Festival I believe. There should also something happening at 'The Vigo Inn' over the year and Don Thompson should know when.
Hope this helps.

OK - synchronise diaries, folks.

Easter (private party)
Spring Bonk holiday - Sweeps
May/June - Piggy
June - Knockers
August - Possibly Sidders/Broadstairs/another knockers
Er - When are Deal and Sandwich?
Oct - Tenters.

We need to fill in some of the other parties at the GI and that village south of Maidstone.

Oh and what about Ash and that pub just north of the A20???

Does anyone know of anything anywhere near Croydon?
