Subject: Great doc. on the Everley Brothers (UK)

Just watching a wonderful 1984 documentary on the Everley Brothers and their roots in country music - clips from Merle Travis, Ike Everley, Mose Rager and others. Great picking and a great insight into their roots in Kentucky.

If you missed it, it should be on the BBC iPlayer...

Next up - a concert from 1983.

Nice to see Albert Lee in the backing band- when he had long black curly hair!

I used to have this on an old VHS, long since lost, so this was a real trip down memory lane. I particularly love the segment featuring "Songs Our Daddy Taught Us". I remember watching it with my mother (now sadly passed on), she would always insist on rewinding "Long Time Gone" several times! Love it!, just love it! (By the way, I saw them live a few years after this at the Brighton Centre, easily one of the best concerts I've ever seen!) Thanks!

Best Friday night's TV in a long long time.
Thank you, Don't & Phil.
Your music will last forever.

What a great programme! Glad I did get to see them, but only in the post-reunion Ice Age, when they didn't even look at each other on stage the whole evening, and the hostility was almost tangible.
