Nice! Gnu, is it okay for you to tell us the Mudcat moniker of her uncle? I thought I had it figured out when I read the YouTube comments but wasn't sure.

S/he is no longer a Mudcatter under any moniker, CL.

There it is from the horses's mouth, CL. That is why I made no mention of his/her name.

Sorry bud... fuc... fouled up again, me. I seem to become more carele... useless by the day.

Those who really want to know can read the name on her homepage, two clicks away ...

Yes, they are rightly proud of one another.

Very nice indeed - and strangely reminiscent of early Joni Mitchell.

Will, I was struck by two influences: JM in certain phrasings and also Natalie Maines. Believe it or not, the young lady in the video is pretty much that way in real life. Just plain nice.

Also, in case you missed my remark to you on another thread, I was going to YouTube and there you were featured with a half dozen other people and a video of you teaching some blues riffs had about 180,000 views. I pushed a button and there you were, gone. Anyway, congratulations :-)

Grishka, that is very kind of you to say. Thank you.

Gnu, we have been friends for many years now. I'd forgive you anything except drinking my last quart of special wine. Stuff costs me ten bucks a box :-)

Will... that thought of Joni came to my mind almost immediately but I hesitated to say it. Not for any other reason than she is not Joni. She is she and she is she is a treasure. I'll bet Joni is/will be a fan.

GUEST... right back atchya. Have yer wine but just don't touch my last beer... unless I have gone oggies, of course. Then, all ya gotta say is I drank it. I seldom drink before noon and the pop shop opens at ten so I'm good. >;-)

Write on, all! Art is all we really have in common as humans. It is our dream(s). It defines us and enriches us even beyond our dreams as we inspire others with each dream. Share your art. Share yourselves and make us all richer in soul and spirit... in community and in solidarity, as I have witnessed here in this Mudcat Café so many times over so many years.

If anyone wants to hear more of Jessica she has a few songs on Reverbnation. They can also be purchased there or on ITunes. Don't know if you have to join or not to access the tunes as I am a long time member of the site - it's well worth to join anyhow as many fine artists are featured there. Here's the LINK

Reverbnation is great. As are Vimeo and SoundCloud. I recommend them. Lots of art to be had. I especially enjoy watching/hearing works in progress. I know some artists who post at these sites various works in their various stages and, me son ME SON!, it can be quite the journey in and of itself. To watch and hear a song/video go from raw concept to finished product is, well, FUN! I love it. Ya don't find em every day, but when ya do... it's like pissin in yer swimming trunks in the cold salt water of the ocean. A nice warm welcome feeling. Even if you have never pissed in your swimming trunks, try these sites out anyway and let the art warm you.

Some might be surprised at how many amazing artists began their rise to fame by playing at pubs and coffee houses and on streets... or on obscure internet music sites THAT DO NOT ALLOW ADVERTIZEMENTS to clutter up the art.

This clip is fantastic. Tinged with hues of Joni and also Rickie Lee, but it's still Jessi's own distinctive voice. She has a shining future - talent obviously runs in the family.

[Thank Gawd for the preview box... I'd left the H out of "shining"]
