Subject: Ralph Jordan 'Eloise' CD From: GUEST,surreysinger sans cookie Date: 18 Feb 14 - 08:51 AM As many Catters will know three years before he died Ralphie Jordan completed recording his then first solo CD "Eloise",and sadly now his only one.It was recorded during a spell of bad snow while holed up in his attic studios in Watford, and is a journey through his musical life, from first hearing a concertina to the influences of Swedish music and the likes of Oliver Schroer and Marc Perrone. Ralphie principally plays Maccann duet concertina on it,and accompanies himself on guitar, bouzouki, harmonium etc. The CD received radio airings, and favourable crits in the folk music press. Sheena Roberts,Ralphie's partner, has a few of those CDs still available for purchase. I may be biassed, but in my opinion it's a great CD. If you would like a copy please contact Sheena on clerksheena @hotmail.co.uk |
