Subject: Visiting Wales September 2015 From: CET Date: 18 Feb 14 - 08:29 PM Charmion and I are planning a visit to Wales in September next year. We hope to take in a couple of matches at the Rugby World Cup (Canada-Ireland and Wales v some country as yet to be determined). I would like to see a few more matches but the prices offered by the RWC official travel agent are mind boggling, and you have to take a package of tickets plus hotel. Are there any musical things happening that Welsh Mudcatters would recommend? Folk clubs, festivals, concerts, etc. it's been almost twenty-five years since I was last in Wales. Edmund |
Subject: RE: Visiting Wales September 2015 From: Mr Red Date: 19 Feb 14 - 05:51 AM with Rugby on the agenda I would suggest Cardiff will be on the itinerary so look at this page (Cardiff + radius 40Km) but look for other towns that I mights list. The post codes display and OS Grid references are useful if you don't know where they are, and it links to maps and will tell you if you have to traverse a toll bridge (or free) for crossing the Severn. Toll only applies going into Wales, but you will have to do that sometime. Failing that cresby.com has a list of listing sites in the drop-down menus and there are a few for Wales. and then my page for RoW (Rest of World!) lists lists that don't abut my chosen area of interest which would include Gog Cymru. Best of Luck and webmail me if you find sessions/FCs where details are changed (they can over-night) |
