Hi GUESTleenia

You can download a pdf of each tune in 'Allan's Irish Fiddler' without having to download the Scorch plugin. In each tune on the bottom right hand corner there is an option 'Score for printing' this links to a pdf of the tune.

Regards,

M.

Hi GUESTleenia

Think the stress in this case is on making it interactive. I remember experimenting a few years back with Scorch for a project I was involved with, without problems.

There is another site that provides this fine book in ABC (surely the folk world's gold standard), NWC, sheet and midi.
The Old Music Project

Sibelius is probably the most widely used music notation software around. How wellknown do you want it?

Thanks for the info, Martin.

They want me to download the Sibelius Skorch plug-in, but I don't know if that will adversely affect my present music set up. I wish they would simply use pdf's or something else well-known.

The Irish Traditional Music Archive has set up an interactive version of the tunes in "Allan's Irish Fiddler" on its site. This tutor is, apparently, well known but rarely found in libraries!
