Our spring do in Kent is this weekend - so please pass this message along to anyone who might be interested in some musical fun this weekend! See http://singdanceandplay.net for details

Saturday 29th March:

- Singdanceandplay by the fireside 2-5pm at the Bell & Jorrocks, Frittenden

An afternoon of singing in the lovely Bell & Jorrocks pub function room with: Peter Collins, Nigel Hobbins, John Morgan, Annie Dearman and Steve Harrison, your hosts Julie and Gavin Atkin (of Marden) and a bunch of friends. Expect some great singing by the fireside, a variety of old fashioned, traditional and new songs, and a few tunes to relax by. Entrance £4 and £2 (concs).

- Old Fashioned Night Out family barn dance 8-11pm at the Bell & Jorrocks, Frittenden

These popular events feature everyone's favourite easy dances, a few party games, a few songs and a great candle-lit atmosphere. Music will be provided by the Horsmonden Traditional Music Workshop and friends, our good friend caller Fee Lock explaining what to do, and song spots from mighty musician and singer Matt Quinn and Annie and Steve. Tickets £7 and £4 (concs). All funds raised go to fund future events.

Sunday 30th March

- Lunchtime session at the Marden Village Club

From noon to 3pm or so...

- Sunday night at the Bell & Jorrocks

The regular last Sunday of the month session on the evening of the 30th March features the excellent singer and storyteller Adrian O – it's his first visit and he's our first storyteller so don't miss him! (Free event)

This is a jolly good shout - I've been to the "Old Fashioned Night Out" with many of our friends and family and can say we've had a really great time.. It's a great little venue, in the hall above the "stables" originally built as a meeting place for Hop Pickers - a great atmosphere for a spot of traditional music and dance - with a bar on hand. Has a great turn out of musicians for the 'band' and to date the callers have been great, - a very lively event!. I'm really looking forward to this weekend and hope to see you there!

Don't forget the Saturday afternoon from 2pm with all those great singers fella! The log fire will be burning, the singing will be fine, a good sprinkling of tunes will lighten the atmosphere from time to time (after a heavy song) and the beer will taste fabulous, I'm telling you...

Gavin

If you're itching to get a little music tonight...

The spring weekend of trad, old fashioned and entertaining events continue tonight from 8pm at Frittenden's Bell & Jorrocks with a free session in the bar with singer and storyteller Adrian O - and a bunch of regulars and our great friends Annie Dearman and Steve Harrison.

Sing http://singdanceandplay.net for more information about the events we run here in mid-Kent.

Gavin
