Subject: RE: JUNO Awards, 2014 From: GUEST,RB Date: 01 Apr 14 - 12:08 PM In 1978 Stompin' Tom Connors gave his 6 Juno awards back in protest of the trend toward giving the award to 'border jumpers' or those who don't live in Canada and work mostly outside the country. I remember him holding a press conference, at the time, and sticking them in a big cardboard box to ship off. After his death last year, he specified that there would be no tribute to him at the award show thus boycotting the institution from the Great Beyond. |
