I have a report from the East Anglian Traditional Music Trust that Reg Reader, a doyen of the Suffolk dulcimer players, has passed away.

A very lovely ,quiet man very fond of a good story.A superb player of the hammered dulcimer. He made me very welcome as part of our regular session group and I sat next to him on many occasions.I shall miss you dear Reg and although I am now in Sussex I shall make the couple of hours trip to say goodbye to a dear friend.

This is sad news. I last saw him at the Blaxhall 'Ship', playing for step-dancers. he will be much missed on days like that.

EATMT tell me his instrument goes to his grandson, Tom Knight, "a very good player". It might be that like his grandfather, he will come to eminence in a while.

Very sad news. He was a fine player and well respected in Suffolk and, indeed, further afield. My condolences to those who knew and loved him. I have added his name to the "In Memoriam" thread.

RIP

Peter
