Subject: RE: Lyr Req: 'satisfactory situation....' From: GUEST,wordfella Date: 20 Apr 14 - 10:36 AM It's a Sunday school song. Here's a completely unsatisfactory video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nS_CxvLRCo (C/P it: the blue clicky is taking forever.) There's a bridge to the song that the video omits. I'm working on it... |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: 'satisfactory situation....'(Joy joy joy) From: clueless don Date: 27 Mar 24 - 07:44 AM WARNING: thread creep! When I was a Boy Scout (longer ago than recorded history), I was on a Scout camping trip, and there was singing around the campfire. The Scoutmaster sang a version of this song (a more religious version, I gather). His rendition included a passage that I remember as: I've got the peace a pass that makes the thunder down in my heart! Down in my heart! ...(etc.) Since then, I have seen lyrics that included the passage "I've got the peace that passeth understanding ...", but I have not found a version with the words that the Scoutmaster sang. An obvious answer to this is "Don - you idiot - you either misunderstood what he sang, or are mis-remembering it now, or both!" Maybe. But my memory of at least "... that makes the thunder ..." is quite clear. |
