Early May Bank Holiday 2nd,3rd,4th Not BH Monday
Half a dozen venues with rolling concerts of folks I mostly don't know.
Any advice welcome from anyone who's been or going. (I'm going over there anyway to visit friends.)
Filey Folk Festival site (with scary flashing advert scammed in by someone)

Went for a bit last year. I'm still intrigued as to why they call it a folk festival, when a 'music' festival seems more fitting (but less alliterative). Most of the acts I saw wouldn't fit into even the broadest description of folk music (without wanting to spark any debates). Still, Filey is a hidden gem on the North Yorkshire coast, and the acts I saw were all of a high standard (the blues stomp board player whose name I've forgotten in particular) so if you're in the area…

Thanks for the replies.
If you're looking for Folk on the Mayday Holiday Weekend go to Holmfirth or Girvan. Don't consider Filey.
If you like turns of whatever ilk thrashing PAs in noisy pubs Filey has half a dozen PAs bashing away all weekend.
A couple at the B&B said the concert hall concert was good. As folks had gone there and paid to listen it was probably best buy.
Go to Holmfirth or Girvan.
