Dear All,

Here is the latest listing from the Irish Traditional Music Archive of Recent Publications and Acquisitions in Irish Traditional Music

Also attached is an addition to our PW Joyce Irish Music Microsite:
a section entitled 'Joyce on Dance'

As well as making a major contribution to preserving Irish traditional
music and song, Patrick Weston Joyce (1827–1914) was the first to
make a classification of the traditional dances that were practised in
the Munster of his youth and to give a close description of them.
Joyce wrote his descriptions for George Petrie in the early 1850s, and
Petrie published his words verbatim in his Ancient Music of Ireland of
1855. Joyce's various observations on dance are presented here (
http://www.itma.ie/joyce/collection/dance ) in facsimile from the
Petrie volume, in Petrie's manuscript hand (when they survive), and
in plain searchable text.

ITMA is very pleased to have been chosen by the International
Association of Music Libraries (UK & Ireland) as one of the 2014–15
winners of its prestigious two-year Excellence Award for Music Libraries , recently presented at a ceremony in Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge.

With best wishes,

M.
