Subject: No Sunnycamp in 2014 From: GUEST,mg Date: 18 May 14 - 10:45 PM The main reason is I was at the camp this weekend and the maintenance issues are even greater. They just absolutely refuse to do simple maintenance that would stop problems from getting worse, saying they are waiting for a big grant and will fix it all at once. The rodent problem is severe and there are birds living in the main hall. I just can't have people down and I suspect that people will call some officials and have the camp closed down until some things are taken care of. Another reason is it that the only weekend I could have it is the first weekend of October and the Vancouver BC camp and I think Getaway are that weekend...also trasnportation is an ongoing issue to a remote camp. I might retire in a couple of years and move it closer to Olympia...mg |

Subject: RE: No Sunnycamp in 2014 From: GUEST,mg Date: 19 May 14 - 01:40 PM Thanks...it was a pretty straightforward decision though...rodent droppings everywhere, birds living in the main lodge..big holes in doors that large rodents like possums or raccoons (I guess not a rodent) can get through and they will not repair...combined with my fear of another virus outbreak like we had at another camp, unless I can guarantee a reasonable cooking facility, I just had to cancel. |
