Congratulations, Joan.

But be careful - 50 is a difficult age!

by eck, it's where I started back in 66! Still singing some of the same songs too, inc KR's The Cage! Don't think I'll make it on the 5th but wish I could and all the very best ;-) Al Coy

Have a great evening - and congrats on 50 folking years!

I did a floor spot at the club a few years ago, when I was up there from Sussex (visiting the land of me faythers), and had a very warm welcome indeed.

Best wishes for even more years.

Wigan Folk Club (Lancashire, UK) celebrates its 50th birthday on Saturday 5 July 2014 at the Silcock Suite, Bellingham Hotel, 141 Wigan Lane, Wigan, WN1 2NB, from 2pm till 11pm. Singers, songwriters, poets, monologuers, musicians and audience very welcome.
FREE ADMISSION but there will be a bucket for donations as we have to pay for room hire.
I'm expecting many of the original folk club members (including the original organiser, Keith Roberts) so this should be a nostalgic and fun day!
There may well be a Survivors' Session on the Sunday - stay tuned for details of venue etc.
