Subject: Lyr Req: Roll the Old Chariot-verses tell a story From: Joe Offer Date: 01 Jun 14 - 02:11 AM At the FSGW Getaway (or maybe at the Royal Mile Pub) several years ago, I heard a woman sing an unusual version of "Roll the Old Chariot Along." In stead of the usual "we'll be all right if..." or "...wouldn't do us any harm" verses, her verses told a story. I meant to catch up with her and ask about the song, but the moment slipped away. Anybody familiar with the version I'm talking of? Can you post the lyrics? Thanks. -Joe- |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Roll the Old Chariot-verses tell a story From: Anglo Date: 01 Jun 14 - 07:40 PM This is an adaptation by Greg Clarke of the The Pickin & Singin Gatherin in the Albany, NY area. He took this "Hangover" poem and arranged it with the Roll the Old Chariot sea shanty chorus. I don't have the poem to hand, sorry. |
