Subject: Rachel (Rakhel) Hadass info wanted From: Thomas Stern Date: 22 Jun 14 - 12:42 PM Does anyone have biographical information for Rachel (Rakhel) Hadass, emigrated from Greece to Israel, then a singer of Israeli and international repertoire ???? AND contact information if she is still around ???? She was active in the 1950's and 1960's - perhaps later. Recorded a couple of albums for MONITOR, now available through Smithsonian-Folkways, and some tracks in an ISRAEL MUSIC FOUNDATION Lp from 1957. Frank Hamilton mentioned her in a post on Mudcat related to performers who appeared in Chicago. Any additional information appreciated. Thanks! Best wishes, Thomas. |

Subject: RE: Rachel (Rakhel) Hadass From: Jack Campin Date: 22 Jun 14 - 07:37 PM I don't know how Hebrew adaptations of names from other places work, but could she be a relation of Hadass Pal-Yarden, who has recorded a CD of Sephardic songs ("Yahudice") for the Turkish label Kalan Muzik? |
