Starts tomorrow with the procession, then dancing at four spots around the town. Absolutely the highlight of my year. Hope the Witchmen will be there, and Leeds Morris - two sides I can't get enough of. There are usually about twenty sides of all types dancing. Such a super place to hold a Morris festival. Will spend all day at Sheringham (and probably get burnt to a cinder as usual) Hooray!

Yes, SRS. One of the quaint pubs in Sheringham is called The Lobster, and some years ago the people in the town created a Morris side and called it the Lobster Potties. (after a lobster pot, still used nowadays, made of withies, to trap lobsters in the sea) The Festival was called the Potty Festival and that's its name even today. I'm a huge fan, and can't wait until tomorrow. My husband (in his African outfit) usually gets dragged out from the crowd, handed a hanky or a stick and invited to dance.

Sheringham's Lobster Potty website.

I've heard of the festival, but didn't know anything but the name until I Googled. I don't know much more now, but it looks like fun.
