Thanks everyone for your efforts and I am due out of here in 10 minutes so don't do any more.
Guest you seem very down about finding places for folking but it is not all that bad if you get hold of the Folk Roundabout magazine it lists something like a hundred clubs in the north east. There should be some near you so good luck.
Thanks again

Fantum

@MrRed
I think that page needs updating. Of the 5 Yorkshire links 2 are broken and one gives dates for 2009!

About half the random selection of links that I tested were broken.

Saturday in the festival season. Hmmm, the best place to be is in a festival. A lot of clubs and sessions dwindle in Late July & August.
First week in August Sidmouth, next week Whitby. School holidays. Costa del Packet. Why am I not surprised?
There is a Cajun Festival in the early part of the year.
Mamou anyone?

Regular FRIDAY night has Musicians followed by Singers of Folk and whatever from 9ish in The Bishop Blaize in the Market Place.
This weekend, Sat 19th is The Woolcombers Festival (Blaize patron Saint of trade) with Bands playing some sort of music, probably not folk. Can't find a programme though nor a website for the Bishop.

This Saturday night I am going to Richmond and will have the whole evening free to sample the local music scene. So the question is what's on in or around Richmond this Saturday night. Any help would be most appreciated
