Subject: Tune Req: French Polka From: GUEST,gillymor Date: 14 Aug 14 - 04:15 PM Looking for the ABC or name, if it has one, of a polka from the Massif Central tune book. It is the 2nd Mp3 down on the page I've linked to, #105. Any help much appreciated. Click here |

It sounds pretty "bassic" tho'. Sorry don't know the name. |

Subject: RE: Tune Req: French Polka From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 16 Aug 14 - 10:44 AM Yes, thanks to both of you - gillymor for pointing out the site and ripov for the abc. I like the piece and plan to play it. As for the name, I suggest we follow folk tradition and call it 'Gillymor's Favorite.' |
Subject: RE: Tune Req: French Polka From: GUEST,crazy little woman Date: 16 Aug 14 - 10:58 AM Ripov, how did you make that ABC? Did you sound it out and patiently transcribe the letters, or is there (I hope, I hope) a program that did it for you? |
Subject: RE: Tune Req: French Polka From: GUEST,gillymor Date: 16 Aug 14 - 12:12 PM I'm also interested as to how ripov came up with it so quickly. I first heard it in a lovely polka set by Silver Arm which can be found here at CD baby or on Spotify (it's the first tune of the French Polka- set on their Beech Tree album). You're very kind to think of me, leenia but it might more appropriate to call it ripov's polka or whatever the french language equivalent is of Gan Aimn until we find a title. |
