It has some nice songs on it..some are professionally recorded..some are recorded with not great equipment so sound quality varies quite a bit. Of those songs, some will be rerecorded and some will be left as is. The purpose is not to have a musical delight but to get something into the hands of survivors and their friends/family etc...so although it was supposed to be a web site thing and not a cd I just called an engineer, asked him to do minimal engineering on it due to lack of funds, and we'd improve it over time. But I still really like it.

I am selling just to recover some expenses and especially to cover mailings. I plan to give lots away for free and also anyone can copy and distribute themselves ...can charge to cover expenses but not sell for profit. There are no copyright issues if copied for this purpose.

Anyway, cost is $5 or I could throw in 5 more for $10. Right now I will just copy at home but I will see how much a nicer copy with printing on disk will cost...I have not figured out how to do this yet although I have the capability on my computer.

Some songs are not complimentary to the Catholic church, although neither was the behavior. It is not an anti-Catholic CD..many songs are pretty hymns, both Catholic and Protestant. I would like to add one or two songs about the Jewish abuse problem, but have none at this time.

Anyway, PM me for details. It should not be given to children..just adult survivors and there is a cheat sheet that asks them to look at the topics of the songs to see if there are some they should avoid. Also, if you are of a religion etc...you can leave off any you find uncomfortable..unfortunately those are the ones that probably have the healing power...

mg, one of the proposed topics for my Musical Therapy radio program (on Peachcityradio.org)is on surviving and thriving abuse.

I'm wondering if there are some songs that might be appropriate.

I'm certainly willing to pay $5 if you think it would be some useable songs.    Let me know how I can do that.

I would really like two songs in particular recorded by others..one is about a boy in a First Nations Residential School in BC..it is not abuse..he dies in an epidemic..but there was horrendous abuse in these schools...he does have a great hopeful spirit though. Based on real graves in BC.

Also a song about Dalit girls in India begging for water. Again, not abuse specific but they are horribly abused. Very hopeful ending. Tune is COnnemara by the lake.

I would love a Canadian group to sing first one and a Hindu or Indian group or person to do second.

Then I need some Irish Catholics..from Ireland or US or wherever..to record the Bishop O'TOole..tune Irish Rover..clan disowns a bad bishop. Must be Catholic for this one..young men.
