Subject: Can you identify this instrument? From: GUEST,Ed Date: 29 Aug 14 - 09:54 AM I'm curious as to the handheld device that the keybord player is using here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuaGDaGJ_KM I know that Korg have produced various weird and wonderful mini synths over recent years, but I don't recognise this, if it is indeed a Korg. Any ideas? Thanks, Ed |

Subject: RE: Can you identify this instrument? From: Jack Blandiver Date: 30 Aug 14 - 03:29 AM I think Jack C is right, although the new-style Kaossilators look a lot like mobile phones but they don't have this size of screen. It might be a K-app per se - I dare say there are any amount of Theremin-type emulators out there.... Or it could even be the Oramics App for maximum electronica creed! Why can't I download one of those for my MacBook? Or maybe I can - must investigate. We had a lot of fun last summer with the Oramics Emulator at The Science Museum. (Just noticed THIS which could bet fun! For those who don't know, look up Daphne Oram.) |
Subject: RE: Can you identify this instrument? From: Jack Campin Date: 30 Aug 14 - 03:30 AM I have the same model of Kaossilator as Sean does - they're much bigger than what that guy is using, and they have real knobs as controls (the more complex models have even more knobs). Korg has an "iKaossilator" app for the iPhone/iPad and I'd bet that's it. |
