Subject: The Time is Now From: sadiejane@folly.org Date: 22 Nov 99 - 11:52 PM I'm trying to identify a song that Dylan was playing for a few minutes at a recent concert. It sounds like a standard - he was playing it in E flat and at one point toward the end of this mini-jam/partial performance, I heard him sing, "the time is now" if anyone knows the song, or knows of a web site for standards that I can search please let me know - thanks in advance sadie |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: The Time is Now From: Allan C. Date: 23 Nov 99 - 08:13 AM Lots and lots of songs with those words, such as: "...the time is now to fulfill each vow, for I may never pass this way again." But, given the context, are you sure it wasn't, "now is the time" as in "Bury the rag deep in your face. Now is the time for your tears"? Just a guess. It could very well have been a snatch of a song he was in the process of writing. |
