Subject: RE: Any one familiar with merida guitars From: Ian Hendrie Date: 30 Sep 14 - 08:34 AM I have a solid mahogany model (no longer available I believe). It sounds very mellow (like a mahogany guitar) and I like it. The saddle was a little thin for the slot but, that apart, it appears very well built. I was told by a salesman (so it may not be true) that they are built in the same factory as LAG guitars and, recently having bought one I can see a number of similarities. There is a high standard of finish in both. I like the material the saddle and nut are made from and this may be a contributory factor to them staying in tune well. In the UK they are stocked by Dawsons and having perused a few in their shops they looked very enticing and good value but now I have the LAG I won't be looking again. As for playability I'm afraid I don't feel qualified to comment but the one I have suits me. |
