Subject: Jake Thackray Fest this weekend From: GUEST Date: 30 Sep 14 - 01:09 PM Any Jake Thackray fans who might be in or around the Wirrall this weekend should hurry on down to the Queen's Royal Hotel in New Brighton where, on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th October, we will be holding a Jakefest in celebration of our favourite wordsmith. It's also the launch of the new DVD, 'Jake Thackray and Songs' which collects together all of Jake's performances (more than two hours worth) from the 1981 BBC show of the same name along with guest spots from Ralph McTell, Alex Glasgow and Pete Scott. Tickets for the Saturday concert are £8-00 and the rest is thrown in. All proceeds go to the Wirrall Autistic Community. The programme, for those not on Facebook, is: Friday 8.30 pm This is a free event open to all. The evening with be an all-comers folk club-type session where anyone who performs is welcome to sing JT songs, or the songs of others, perhaps with a humorous bent. There will be an optional fun Jake Thackray quiz at half time.
