I remember hearing that tune as a play out on NPR when they were talking about the Dunblane school shooting in the 1990's. It was the version by Aly Bain with Violet Johnson playing piano. It brought tears to my eyes. I learned it on guitar in the original key and still play it once in awhile.

No it WASN'T a lament, Roloff was simply going back to his teaching job in Tooting.

One of those sheets says that Roloff did the piano arrangement himself. A bit difficult if you're dead.

Nice tune, anyway. We need more session tunes in F.

Great tune! I think it was originally written as a lament, but sounds just as good a little bit up tempo.

Dear Friends,

I am tasked to play a funeral next Thursday (Oct. 9) and as a whistler, I know this tune by heart. My problem is that I cannot find any nice piano accompaniment sheet music to give to the pianist that will be playing with me. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks a bunch.
