Subject: RE: Chord Req: Walter Bulwer's #3 From: Jeri Date: 22 Oct 14 - 12:27 PM I can't even find the dots to #3, so definitely, no chords. Bulwer's No.1 and No.2 are polkas. |

Subject: RE: Chord Req: Walter Bulwer's #3 From: Musket Date: 22 Oct 14 - 01:16 PM Ditto. I was in a band that played 1 and 2, and dropped onto this thread out of curiosity. |
Subject: RE: Chord Req: Walter Bulwer's #3 From: Jack Campin Date: 22 Oct 14 - 01:19 PM It took some finding, but now I've found it I've put the ABC up on mandolintab.net - not visible yet but it should appear in their index eventually: http://mandolintab.net/abcconverter.php The second half in particular is rather music-hall-ish, and I wouldn't be confident of chording it idiomatically. |
Subject: RE: Chord Req: Walter Bulwer's #3 From: GUEST,Grishka Date: 22 Oct 14 - 06:55 PM I see Jack's point, but since I'm not known as a coward, here's my go, as folkish as I can manage: X:502 T:Walter Bulwer's No 3 M:4/4 Q:1/4=180 K:G GA|"G"B2 B2 BAGA|"G"B2 DD D2 D2|"C"E2 G2 "D7"G2 A2|"G"G6 "Daug"FE| "G"D2 G2 A2 B2|"Bm"d2 B4 A2|"A7"G2 E2 F2 G2|"D7"A6 GA| "G"B2 B2 BAGA|"G"B2 DD D2 D2|"C"E2 G2 "D7"G2 A2|"G"G6 "Daug"FE| "G"D2 B2 "E7"c2 B2|"Am"A2 E4 A2|"G/D"G2 D2 "D7"B3 A|"G"G4|| d3 c|"G"B2 B2 "D"d3 A|"Em"G2 G2 "Bm"B4|"Bm"D2 E2 "Em"F2 G2|"Am"c6 "E7"B2| "Am"c2 e2 A3 B|"Am"c2 e2 A3 G|"D"G2 F2 EF E2|"G"D6 d2| "G"e2 d2 B2 G2|"Bm"D6 G2|"Em"F2 G2 "E7"A2 B2|"Am"c6 c2| "D"d2 c2 A2 F2|"D"d2 c2 A2 F2|"D7"D2 D2 E2 F2|"G"G4 G2|] |

Subject: RE: Chord Req: Walter Bulwer's #3 From: GUEST,Grishka Date: 23 Oct 14 - 06:33 AM twerp, in my previous message, you find each chord symbol between two "s. The rest of the ABC code (the Mudcat standard) is copied from Lester's link above. To display and play ABC tunes, including chords, install an "ABC notation" software such as EasyABC or ABCExplorer. |
Subject: RE: Chord Req: Walter Bulwer's #3 From: GUEST,twerp Date: 23 Oct 14 - 07:00 AM Grishka, many thanks for this. Didn't understand the ABC code. Cheers |

Subject: RE: Chord Req: Walter Bulwer's #3 From: GUEST,gillymor Date: 23 Oct 14 - 09:04 AM Yeah, nice playing and nice website, Lester. |
Subject: RE: Chord Req: Walter Bulwer's #3 From: Musket Date: 24 Oct 14 - 03:34 AM Lovely tune. Very different to the two standard polkas and I can imagine many a music hall style song lyrics fitting in to it. I listened to Lester playing it and was pleasantly surprised to note that it is new to me. I've just about got it now and will give it a whirl on mandolin at a club on Sunday night. Thanks to all. Excellent thread. |
