Subject: Chord Req: Life (Tom Paxton) From: GUEST Date: 01 Nov 14 - 04:40 AM A song with powerful strumming patterns but I failed to work out the chords to it. It's from Tom's album "Up & Up" (acoustic version). Can anyone help? Thanks! |
Subject: RE: Chord Req: Life (Tom Paxton) From: Jason Xion Wang Date: 01 Nov 14 - 08:09 AM Video of Tom playing the song It's actually first released on "Something in My Life" in 1975, quite an obscure Tom Paxton album with very "folk-rocky" arrangements. My copy of the LP is a Japan release. It didn't came out on CD so far. John Denver covered "Bet on the Blues" in 1977 and again in 1995. My favorite song from that album is "Oh, Doctor, Doctor", a song about how a man suffering from terminal illness longs for euthanasia. Jason |
Subject: Lyr Add: LIFE (Tom Paxton) From: GUEST,# Date: 01 Nov 14 - 08:14 AM Life (Tom Paxton) Life - May yours be long and loving Peace - May you enjoy its blessing Joy - May it be yours to savour Love - May it be yours forever May the sound of children be your music May your blessings be the ones you earn May your days be filled with sun May you deeply love someone May that someone love you in return May your only sorrows be the small ones May they leave you stronger when they go May the love of friends be yours May you live with open doors May you feel the love within you grow May your smallest moment be a full one May your life be all that it can be May you come to love yourself And hold that love above yourself - And hold that love for all the world to see |

I can't guarantee it's 100% accurate. In the video above, Tom plays a quick D-A-B7-E after each line; in album "Up & Up" he does not. Jason |
