Barnsley folk club (folk and acoustic nights) is located in South Yorkshire S70 6AA and runs every Monday evening except for Bank Holidays

It has been in existence over 50 years though not in exactly the same venue but for very many years in pub venues on Racecommon Road

the Lounge of the Trades club, Townend/Racecommon Rd is the current venue:

Format is 8pm start with an easy tune session until 9pm when singers musicians and other performers are most welcome

Being folk club and meeting every week we do have occasional guests and are mindful of different audiences needs and aspirations, we are nota Concert club booking every week and we are aware of the need to provide entertainment for paying customer

Lynne Heraud and Pat Turner are our guests on November 10th 2014 and are indeed fine folk singers and entertainers with an accent on "women's issues"

The club music session will end at 8.30 so that the club floor singers and guests (from around 9.15 first 45 mins spot) can get underway

Check out Barnsley folk club website for What's on in future weeks and support your local club if you are able!!

Thanks for the reminder Ray. I am busy the next couple of weeks but will make the effort, I keep bumping into people who say how good it is.

It occurs to me that I haven't been since the days of The Wheatsheaf, when I used to come with Mitch, Tom & Bertha and the rest of the Worksop gang. I'm the other side of Donny now, so just as easy to get to you.
