I have heard through John Kirkpatrick the his good lady, Sally, passed away yesterday. I'm sure all good folkies will be thinking about John at this sad time.

Oh how terrible. That seems so sudden. Poor John - my singing band will be thinking of him and his family especially as we were due to perform with him in December and feel a connection.

John wouldn't know me from Adam but I nattered with him a couple of times at the Tree Inn folk club in the early 90s. He's a truly lovely feller and my heart goes out to him.

We were shocked the other week to hear from John's agent that he was cancelling his Christmas booking at the Barlow because Sally had been rushed into Hospital. Sadly our hopes and wishes for them have not been enough.
I have only met Sally on a couple of occasions but have met John many more times. I think that this is one of those times that bring to the fore that there is a family behind the faces of performers that we encounter mainly on their own.
My sincere sympathy to all of the family, John and those whom I do not know personally.

So sorry to hear this news too: didn't know Sally, and I am just one of many people who have benefited from John's brilliant workshops and concerts at Sidmouth, but I still feel for him and the families.
