Last Saturday of the month during the winter (except December) Stamford Bridge Cricket Club, if you can get along to one there are usually quite a few singers and musicians there. Let us know when you have a venue and date and if it doesn't clash with anything else we are doing we will try to get along. Mid-week is a bit tricky for us though.

Hi Simon

Would you like me to include your request in the news pages of the Yorkshire Folk Arts site at http://www.yorkshire-folk-arts.com. Just drop me a line from the site and I'll add it to the pages.

All the best

Jim Hancock

interestingly I have told you about Sudaby's in Malton yet you do not seem to recognize my post, preferring to talk about Beverley. When the folk festival/ day of dance is on it is very popular I have been to a few do's there seems to me like a good starting point.

Hi Simon,

Take no notice of the bad tempered anonymous Guest- obviously short of their beauty sleep.

Becoming a member would enable people to message you privately if you're concerned about putting too many details on a public forum.

Good luck in finding what you're looking for, you've come to the right place. :)

Anonymity was the wrong word! I just felt that putting phone numbers and email addresses on the Mudcat forum would be frowned upon. The website has been around for a while so using the link seemed a bit less obvious Sorry! Come on, give a newbie a bit of a break!
I know Beverley. I play there a lot. Just wanted something a bit closer to home!

Yorkshire is well known for the fiendliness of its inhabitants and the warmth of it hostility.

just a way to keep a bit of anonymity for the moment!

So you provide a web address that gives your name, address, 'phone number and email. Bizarre...

By the way, in future use less capitals in your thread title and less exclamation marks in the body.

Also, given that these pages are read globally, something like 'Musicians Wanted, Malton N. Yorks' might go down better.

Have a good day.

Hook into the Sheffield Carols circuit and find out from them. Yes, they're a fairish bit south of you, but they do come a fairish distance and someone's bound to know. And no, they're not a sit-in-a-pew operation!

I live in the Malton area of England, North Yorkshire. There are few sessions around here, the best one close by is in York. I am looking for any Trad musicians of all abilities in the area who would be interested in starting up something on a weekly or monthly basis. Don't know where yet, but the choice is endless.
Anyone who may be interested can get me through my website www.westonwhistles.co.uk
(that's not a plug by the way! just a way to keep a bit of anonymity for the moment!)
