Such sad news - just had a phone call from Ronnie Palmer to tell me that Margaret passed away this morning . they were both such a large part of our lives on the folk scene particularly here in the North East and although she had been ill for quite a while, she will be sorely missed - I'll pass on funeral arrangements when I have them.

Im so sad to hear of this, Margaret will no doubt be missed by the many many friends like myself who enjoyed her and Ronnie's company at Folk clubs and festivals over many years RIP Marggaret.

Margaret's funeral is being held at 11.45 on Thurs. 18th Dec at West Road Crematorium, Newcastle. NE5 2JL.Unfortunately I can't make it as I'm in hospital that day but I'm sure friends will give her a gret sendoff.

So sorry to hear this. Margaret's tender singing was the heart & soul of many a Durham Folk Party and her legendary hospitality will remain in our hearts eternally. Such happy memories! Our heartfelt condolences to Ronnie.
