It's in London, England, in the northern hemisphere if my Geography degree serves me correctly. The event clearly lists all the correct information - 470 Kingsland Road, E8 4AE London, United Kingdom

Named after a Monk' album - yes you are correct, well done. Its not a restaurant in the strictest sense, it is a specialised venue that serves food and drink.

... also ... THE BRILLIANT CORNERS - a fondly remembered 1980s post punk / new wave Bristol Band...

Kingsland Road is Dalston, East London, UK

Brilliant Corners is one of my favourite Thelonious Monk albums. Slightly odd name choice for a Japanese restaurant though. Mind you, I don't know what kind of restaurant a Thelonious Monk tune-name would work for... soul food maybe?

The above post gives no indication even as to which hemisphere it is in -northern, southern, western, eastern?
The link suggests it is London, UK, but with an illustration that suggests Canada or Scandinavia.

A week today (17th November) from 8pm marks the first Small Hours at Brilliant Corners.

Brilliant Corners is a very welcoming bar and restaurant that serves Japanese food and carefully selected drinks at sensible prices and prides itself on its audiophile soundsystem. The venue is a haven for true music enthusiasts where vinyl is the only acceptable medium for the record listening sessions that take place in its main room.

Small Hours is my homage to the original songsmiths, travelling musicians that picked up their guitar and travelled around the world armed with only their words. I'll be armed with a big bag of records where you'll hear 'folk' music in the general sense of the word - there will be some Johns, you'll hear some Jonis too.

Battle through the cold to Brilliant Corners and you will be rewarded with good music, food and drink. The only thing more fitting would be a roaring open fire.

Facebook event : Here

Please invite as many people as you think will be interested - this is such a superb venue to be championing the music we love.
