Very sad to hear on the news that American singer/songwriter Lesley Gore passed away at age 68 in New York. Lesley Gore, a non-smoker died of lung cancer at New York Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan New York, according to her partner of 33 years Lois Sasson.

Well known for songs like, "It's My Party", "Judy's Turn To Cry",
"You Don't Own Me" and many other songs.

As a very young girl I used to sing along to all her songs on the radio.

RIP Lesley Gore.

Sad news - She's one of my favourite singers.

The early LPs produced by Quincy Jones are exceptional pop music.

"It's My Party" was another background to my teen years together with several 45s which still evoke a sort of nostalgia.
