If I had the money I would bid for his MS of "The Legend Of Andrew McCrew" - just to see how he put the words together, and what words he reject and why.

To Guest Barbara:

I want to first say "A Big Thank You" for your very kind offer.
I am in Southern, California.

Don is playing at two Southern, California venues only.

Big Bear Lake on March 14, 2015 and then in Palm Desert, California on March 17, 2015. I don't have a car to get to either location, Palm Desert or Big Bear (which actually are quite some distance from me anyway.) Doesn't look like he is playing anywhere near Fresno or Bakersfield, Calif.
Plus cannot afford a concert ticket anyway :-(

Thank you to you & your husband for offer though.

P.S. I am a non-smoker. :-)

Lin

Hey Lin:

Is Don playing anywhere in Central California, Bakersfield, Fresno, etc areas? If he is let me know. My husband & I could take you and willing to treat you. Please let me know. I don't know where you live but if you are anywhere in the areas mentioned and if you could let me know if Don is playing in or near those cities.
By the way, we are both non-smokers so just one request that we hope you are too and would not want to smoke. Thanks.

My wife and my boss the nun both never seem to be able to wear their glasses, so I'm used to compensating for them, Lin.

Maeve:

Thank you for bringing Don's name to the attention of the moderator.

Yes, I did intend to spell it correctly. :-)
I was tired at the time when I typed it and didn't have my glasses on.

Thanks,
Lin

Just read in a magazine that "Don McLean's original handwriting manuscript for his classic 1971 hit, American Pie is going up for auction in New York City in April and expected to sell for a whopping $1.5 million dollars. It includes 16 pages of drafts, corrections, deletions and scribbled notes for the beloved 8-minute song. Don, 69, is also expected to reveal some of the secrets of the lyrics. The record sale for a piece of sheet music is $2 million, which Bob Dylan's, Like A Rolling Stone fetched last year."

Wow!! As a young guy in his 20's at the time, I'm sure Don McLean could never imagined where this song would take him and the fortune that was to come from it in his future.

Don will be performing in an upcoming concert in Southern California but sadly I don't have the money to be able to see him or a car to get there. No one to take me either. :-((
Been a fan for many years of all of his great songs!
