Subject: RE: West Cumbria - Friday/Sat sessions? From: GUEST,Guest Betsy Date: 03 Mar 15 - 07:00 PM Thanks Red I'm sure they are an excellent band , but I fancied something a little more "compact". Looks like We'll be giving the Swan a visit possibly |
Subject: RE: West Cumbria - Friday/Sat sessions? From: Mr Red Date: 03 Mar 15 - 03:45 AM the Monster Ceilidh Band are a very good ceilidh band. You could do a lot worse. It is a standing concert, not a ceildh. Nice to see the particular listing site is kept up to date. |
Subject: RE: West Cumbria - Friday/Sat sessions? From: GUEST,Guest Betsy Date: 02 Mar 15 - 07:26 PM Mr Red - clicked on blueclicky - but don't fancy a Ceilidh band - just a nice quiet session with a few tunes and songs-maybe I'll have to settle for the Swan unless.... |
Subject: RE: West Cumbria - Friday/Sat sessions? From: GUEST,achmelvich Date: 02 Mar 15 - 06:40 PM cockermouth is where i live. there is often good music at the kirkgate centre. just up the road is the swan -which is the top pub in west cumbria just now. a proper, friendly pub with good beer and no electronic distractions. there are folk sessions on a couple of wednesdays a month. but on a weekend the best we can offer is a beer/scrabble and cards session. say hello, you may get a game - pete sorry if this is a repeat- my previous, similar post seems to have disappeared |

Subject: WEST CUMBRIA From: Betsy Date: 01 Mar 15 - 07:36 PM I'll be visiting Cockermouth 6/7th March. Will try to pop into the Twa Dogs in Keswick on Sunday afternoon on my way home , but are there any sessions on the Friday or Saturday nights in that part of the world ? Cheers Betsy |
