Thanks Red I'm sure they are an excellent band , but I fancied something a little more "compact".

the Monster Ceilidh Band are a very good ceilidh band. You could do a lot worse. It is a standing concert, not a ceildh.
Nice to see the particular listing site is kept up to date.

Mr Red - clicked on blueclicky - but don't fancy a Ceilidh band - just a nice quiet session with a few tunes and songs-maybe I'll have to settle for the Swan unless....

cockermouth is where i live. there is often good music at the kirkgate centre. just up the road is the swan -which is the top pub in west cumbria just now. a proper, friendly pub with good beer and no electronic distractions. there are folk sessions on a couple of wednesdays a month. but on a weekend the best we can offer is a beer/scrabble and cards session. say hello, you may get a game - pete

I'll be visiting Cockermouth 6/7th March. Will try to pop into the Twa Dogs in Keswick on Sunday afternoon on my way home , but are there any sessions on the Friday or Saturday nights in that part of the world ?
