I don't have time myself right now.

Have got these but don't think the opening half first line is right anyone?

In a dark and dreary corner in a bar outside the town
A Polish man was drinking, he looked a little down
I served him with his order, he paid me and said "Thanks.
My name is Yahtzee from Gdansk."

"My father worked the shipyard and he gave them his life.
I followed in his footsteps for I thought it was my right.
Till that cold October morning in the year of zero four
They handed me my papers at the door."
chorus:
And the wife and children he has left behind
They're playing Ring a Rosie in his mind
Even tho' his gifted hands were not needed in his land
He still dreams of the shipyard and Gdansk.

"When I came to Ireland the build for me a life
Be the Celtic Tiger for my family and wife
Building walls in Tipperary, laying roads in Dublin town
And dreaming of the day I'm homeward bound."

Just as the bar was closing he lifted up his glass
Said "Here's a toast to Ireland, to her future and her past,
The light that shines within you in my heart will always dance
Till I return to the shipyard and Gdansk."

I can get it here. The first line:

In a darkened, quiet corner in a bar outside the town,
A Polish man was drinking; he looked a little down.
I served him with his order; he paid me and said: "Thanks.
My name it is Yahtzee from Gdansk."

"My father worked the shipyards and he gave them his life.
I followed in his footsteps as I felt that was my right.
When one cold November morning in the year of zero-four
They handed me my papers at the door."

CHORUS: And the wife and children he has left behind
Are playing Ring a Rosie in his mind.
Even tho' his gifted hands are not needed in his land,
He still dreams of the shipyard and Gdansk.

"But when I came to Ireland to build myself a life
And feed the Celtic tiger for my family and wife
Building walls in Tipperary, laying roads in Dublin town,
And dreaming of the day I'm homeward bound."

Just as the bar was closing he lifted up his glass,
Said "Here's a toast to Ireland, to her future and her past.
The light that shines within you in my heart will always dance
When I return to the shipyard and Gdansk."

CHORUS: And the wife and children he has left behind
Are playing Ring a Rosie in his mind.
Even tho' his gifted hands were not needed in his land
He still dreams of the shipyard and Gdansk.

The first line as I understand it from the Sean Keane concert we saw last year i:

in a quiet darkened corner, in a bar outside the town.

I served hom with his order, he paid me and said Hi.
My name it is Jerzy from Gdansk. (Pronounced Yertsey)

Then one cold November morning in the year of zero four.

Pat Coyne who plays guitar for Sean normally plays in open D or DADGAD and the chords are basicaly D, G and A with an F#m and Em thrown in on the the run from D to G. I finger pick the song in DADGAD so i dont know what it would sound like for a strummer in concert tuning.

"Jerzy" is pronounced YEAHzhee, zh like the French j. As you may have guessed, it is the Polish equivalent of George.

Gdansk (or even Gdańsk) - no English rhyme for that. The shipyards there are not quite as cozy as they may seem in a homesick emigrant's memory.
